The Zero Waste Coordinator for UBC’s Sustainability and Engineering Dept. under Campus and Community Planning (CC&P) is seeking undergraduate volunteers for January 13th and 15th for an outdoor green bin audit to determine campus-wide contamination rates of the outdoor organics bins.
Training and materials will be provided, and the audit will take place under a covered outdoor area.
This volunteer opportunity is a particularly valuable experience for students in food systems or agricultural programs who are interested in food systems, composting, and food waste, although all are welcome!
Time slots are flexible, volunteers can work on one day or both, for however long they want to/are available.
