Job Opportunity: Research Assistant (Yukon & NWT)

Dr. Carissa Brown, Associate Professor of Biogeography at Memorial University of Newfoundland is looking for an undergraduate student to apply for an NSERC USRA to work with her crew in the Yukon, from Whitehorse to Tuktoyaktuk, NWT. She is willing to recruit an undergraduate student from anywhere in Canada, and will pay for your travel to meet up with the field crew as well as summer logistics costs (food, travel, etc. in the field). Potential research projects you would be involved in relate to treeline fires and treeline range expansion, latitudinal diversity gradients across taxa (two PhD projects happening this summer) and maybe more, funding dependent. You get to spend days off in Dawson City (including DCMF weekend).
To apply, you need to apply for the USRA directly with Dr. Brown’s faculty, but Dr. Brown will help you with this.
