Decolonizing Sexualized Violence Prevention // January 28th

SVPRO, alongside our partners at the FNHL and AMS SASC, is pleased to invite you to our second annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month feast night in the First Nations House of Learning on Tuesday, January 28th , from 4-8pm
This year’s event –  Decolonizing Sexualized Violence Prevention – is open to staff, faculty, and students, and has been developed to offer professional development around Indigenous perspectives and working with Indigenous community towards the elimination of sexualized violence.
Building on last year’s event, Sovereign Bodies: Decolonizing Consent, this year Dr. Sarah Hunt will return to moderate a panel of students, researchers, and activists who will offer guidance on turning our growing awareness into action towards safety from sexualized violence. This year’s event will include a student-led space activation to open the event, salmon feast by Salishan Catering, and panel discussion.

We ask that no photos or videos are taken during any portion of the event and ask for engagement of the non-digital kind  (rather than social media).  Participants are requested to refrain from wearing uniforms or similar visual affiliation items for this event.
