“Exploring Forestry and Conservation in China” – Nanjing and Shanghai, China (May 2019)

This program contains two UBC courses which provide opportunities for students to examine the current development of Chinese forestry, wood product trade, protected area management, and plantation activities through indoor lectures, field trips to nature reserves, visits to plantation area, and trip to a UNESCO World Heritage Site in eastern China.

“Ecological Restoration and Urban Forestry in China” – Beijing and Inner Mongolia, China (May 2019)

This program contains two UBC courses which provide opportunities for students to obtain a basic understanding of the development of Chinese natural, commercial and urban forestry management, examine the current ecological restoration issues in China, and compare the differences in related forestry issues between China and Canada through environmental, economic and social approaches.
