International Development enthusiasts, do any of the following pique your interest?

Chris Coulson (4, Political Science) and I, Rohina Dass (4, International Relations) are coordinating a Student Directed Seminar in Term 2 of the winter session 2017-18 for upper year students interested in the current debates within International Development. It is a:

  • 3 credit POLI course (code will change soon but register in the ASTU course)
  • Counts towards LIST B for IR students.

The course ASTU 400N , held tuesdays and thursdays 1 – 2:30 PM in MATH 204, is open for registration.

ASTU 400N Course Description (the short version)

The academically rigorous course situates the implementation and application of development theories and practice in the Global South (GS), focusing on development for and from within the GS. We analyze development, looking more closely at various alternative theories that influence it, the parameters that are considered ‘successful’ and how those are affected by various lenses, countries and ideas.
