
Aboriginal Experience UBC 2019 will be welcoming over 300 Indigenous high school students to the UBC Vancouver Campus! The students will participate in faculty led workshops, tour the longhouse, and hear from a panel of current Indigenous UBC students.
We are seeking up to 50 student volunteers to assist with this event. Student Volunteers will receive lunch on both days, UBC swag, and can request a reference letter.
Please remember: Aboriginal Experience UBC takes place during the February reading week.
Students who are interested in volunteering must be available and in Vancouver on February 19 & 20, 2019.
Volunteer Position: Peer Leader
When: February 19 & 20, 2019
Where: UBC Vancouver Campus
Time Commitment: February 19 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
February 20 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
Peer Leader Duties include:
• Participating in training on February 19 and spending the day with the students on
February 20.
• Leading the groups of students to and from workshops around the UBC Vancouver
campus.
• Assisting with checking in the students as they arrive to the event.
• Answering questions about student life at UBC.
• Being a friendly and welcoming face for the students.
