Haida Gwaii Institute summer semester cancellation

Dear students,

In light of circumstances surrounding COVID-19, the Haida Gwaii Institute has cancelled its semesters this Summer. Please see below for offerings during the 2020W session.

The Haida Gwaii Institute (HGI) is a community-based education and research post-secondary institute that develops and delivers transformative education inspired by Haida Gwaii.

Sḵ’aadG̱a Gud ad is, a term given to HGI by Elders at HlG̱aagilda X̱aayda Kil Naay Skidegate Haida Immersion Program or Learning Together in English, embodies our vision for a cross-cultural, collaborative and place-based approach to higher education. We see the social and ecological systems of Haida Gwaii as vibrant natural classrooms.

HGI’s educational programs aim to provide both western and Indigenous lenses – and the diversity of perspectives within those lenses -learning from leading academics, professionals and knowledge keepers as well as people with direct, lived experience.
