One-Day Course with Certification: An Introduction to Oil and Gas Development: From Exploration to Production

Join The Oil and Gas Initiative in the Chemical and Biological Engineering Building, Room 102 on January 26th 8:30-4:30 PM to learn about the upstream petroleum industry from the appraisal of a new field through execution of an asset development plan, and production of oil and gas. New technologies and future challenges will also be discussed.

Participants are awarded a certificate of completion by the Society of Petroleum Engineers – Lunch and Coffee Break is also provided.

Information about the instructor:

Chris Truefitt – a Petroleum Engineer with over 40 years of international experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. His experience includes well testing and field appraisal, field development planning and front-end engineering, production, and well performance analysis and optimization.

His Canadian experience includes onshore field development and production management in Western Canada and appraisal and development planning for several projects in the Canadian offshore frontier regions.

His international experience involves the UK and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea, West and East Africa, Indonesia, Australia and the Middle East.

Chris has a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester and an M.Eng. from UBC. He is a PEng with EGBC and a CEng and Fellow of the UK Institution of Chemical Engineers.
